On Tuesday 29 July, staff of the Department of Environment Regulation gave a presentation on air quality to an open meeting of the Collie Shire Council.

The Department was responding to the Council’s concern over recently collected National Pollutant Inventory air quality data which suggested that there had been an increase in particulate emissions in the area.

The Department was able to reassure that emissions in the Collie area have remained within the National Environment Protection Measure Ambient Air Quality standards during 2013 and 2014.
