To report a life-threatening incident or emergency:

and ask for FireThe Department of Fire and Emergency Services will call out DWER for major pollution/hazardous materials incidents.
To report a pollution emergency that is not life-threatening:

Pollution emergencies include discharges of hazardous materials or incidents which threaten public health or the environment.
Between 8:30am and 5pm weekdays the Pollution Watch hotline is staffed by a DWER officer.
Outside of these hours, you will be directed to an automated message with two options:
- Leave a message about a pollution issue. If you select this option, an officer will contact you the following working day.
- Speak to an operator. Select this option if you are reporting a pollution emergency requiring immediate response.
